Thank you very much for the honest video about the BMW F 900 XR. I myself also like its appearance, but it is the problems with the neutral gear and the concerns of others regarding maintenance and repair that make me doubt about replacing the current bike, which works flawlessly.
Would very likely also take the cf moto as a bike beside a road bike, or sth even lighter, beta alp 400 or if money would be less the point: kove rallye!
ADV 350 is a scooter and ADV 750 is a motorcycle. No comparisson.
Prospective buyers WILL make the comparison.
I contacted SW Motech today and apparently they do not have a tank ring for the Rally Pro 24 model! Are you using the '23 ring and if so any problems with fitment? Thank you.
I'm actually using the one I originally bought for my Trident 660. Fits perfectly. I believe all (most?) Triumphs use identical fuel filler designs
thanks for the great review mate. currently torn between this or CB500X. if it wasn't for the jerky throttle, this would be a shoe in.
Yes, the throttle is disappointing
@@RocketMan_Moto is it something that can be fixed after? the rest of the moto has such potential I wouldn't even mind
People here have said that the throttle cable can be adjusted to reduce the jerkiness
The seat on mine has no gap!
Don’t know how you managed that!
@@RocketMan_Moto luck? I will look at it again when I return.
Nice review. Ordered my cfmoto just waiting on delivery
Best of this bunch. Very good engine. When will yours be coming?
I think the tall seat is a must for most people. I can’t understand anyone wanting a bigger screen than this on an ADV, I want wind on my body! I really want this bike!
It’s a good bike. Great engine 👍
Well after all this time BSA is not really in the market. Also, since UK left EU it is difficult to see it in Europe...❤
Yup. I think there are a couple of dealers in Portugal now, but not down here in the Algarve
Two things have stopped me from wanting to buy the beautiful Triumph Tiger series: 1.) Too low of gear ratio, and no way to change the final drive to reduce engine RPM's for 75mph cruising. 2.) The new T-Plane crankshaft, which no longer provides the same triple sound and smoothness. But, the Triumph Tiger bikes are some of the best looking motorcycles in the world, and are a masterpiece of engineering in their own right. I might still consider getting one anyway!
Agree with 2, but can’t say I have a problem with 1. Thanks for your input 👍😊
sounds like Daniel Craig
Haven’t heard they one yet😂
I also had put a deposit on the Triumph 400X, and eventually went for a test ride then cancelled my order. I wasn't overly impressed and I certainly didn't like the vibes. In the UK, the CF Moto is only £100 more with a 4 year warranty which resets every time you get your bike serviced by a CF Moto dealer.
I would take the CF over the 400X
Great review..I have this exact bike and agree with 99%..well thought out and presented....but when it comes to comparisons I immediately knew he's unconsciously blinded by his brittishness when he had top 4 bikes as Triumphs...Im not saying honda cb500x is better but your national brand loyalty is overt when looking at your rating / comparison..I'm unfortunately not even intrigued to find out why he believes that because listening to a Brit review a Triumph is similar to a religious worship ritual😉!!
Thanks for your input 😊
The 450MT is clearly a good motorcycle after the tests and I really like it. But I am interested in two things: 1. Servicing and availability of spare parts, given that it is manufactured in China. The concern relates to a possible political tightening, e.g. between the EU and China and trade sanctions (am I paranoid?). 2. How can the 800m seat height be set on the 450MT? Does this just go down like the Hilalaya? I am about 172 cm tall, and a height of 800 mm would suit me best.
I didnt had good memories from my last chinese bike, 650mt. Ill never buy again a chinese bike, many problems from the first Day, brakes, clanch, cooland system, fuse fails. Every month i was in garage for repairs. Never again, i prefrer a used japan maid or eu maid but no chinese.
I think quality has improved but you’re right, we need to see how this 450 will fare
@@RocketMan_Moto no thanks ill not be a tester again. 6.000 does not allow high quality standards. They already complaning about thortle issues. Its a motorcycle not a t-shirt we cant change it the next Day.
Fair enough
I have to disagree with you on the off road capabilities. I ride my 400X on forest roads and gravel roads all around the Algarve and it is very agile. It reminds me of my CRF250L, just heavier. I did put Mitas Enduro Trail tires on at 3500km and they improved its off road capabilities even more. BTW, I’m 63 and have no problem in the dirt on my Scrambler. I also like the tarmac capabilities as well. It handles the twisties along the N120 extremely well, even with the Trail tires. Also great bike for riding around The Monchique Mountains. It definitely isn’t good for long distances. But it’s not made for that.
Not great on the A22, either😉
On the previous generation we can default the mileage on the panel by activating "service interval" on the "screen options". It'll show up by swiping on the TPMS screen. It might be the same on the 2024 model. Unfortunately the 2024 model i tested made more heat to the knees than my RP2021 does. Main reason why didn't bought it.
Strange, I find the heat better on the 2024
@RocketMan...i may be in Vilamoura july 6th with my T900 RP (2021). Shall we meet and talk about our bikes?😊
I’m away then😊
Beautiful
Thank you😊
Bravo hai un bel modo di fare le cose! L ho comprata oggi dando indietro il mio scrambler 1200xe spero tu abbia ragione! Ti farò sapere!
Thanks. Enjoy😍
I like my Shoei RF-1400, buy it on special though to get better value from it.. I prefer my Scorpion R1 Air and much prefer my AGV K5-S which are both lighter and in my opinion - quieter.
Interesting. Thanks for your input😊👍
@@RocketMan_Moto ...I found noise can also be the top/jacket you use (I found mesh and plastic shoulder bits to increase noise, smooth leatheri best) and how tight the neck roll is which is an individual fit thing, years of mountain biking and gym/weights my neck is pretty thick but milage may very due to own neck/head shape. Adding a thin motorcycle neck scarf around jaw and ears or balaclava helps... Always advise using high quality ear plugs.
Agree re. plugs
Oh and I have Nolan N60-6 full face, looks great but hate it...neck cushions are useless not fitting firm against the helmets shell properly even with my thick neck = too noisy.
Really interesting comparison, I have a Trident and enjoying at present , will stick with it for a few more years I think.
Great bike. Enjoy😊
thanks for the info about the knees, i have a painful knee and need to keep it from getting cold... so i guess the Forsa will be better for me ... have fun in the sun
Cheers, Stephen👍😊
Just did the first 1000 km here in Poland. Yep great bike but...... It has short gearing, 125 indicated (120 gps) you are at 7000 rpm with 8500 red line. I have already installed 15T front sprocket, that drops the rpm about 500. The fueling off idle is not great (thx euro whatever it is). Throttle cable adjustment helps, but a good tune is the real solution. At 178cm and 75 kgs, bike fits me like a glove. The front suspension is firm, all the way out on preload and still playing with the dampening. Rear I added just a few turns on the preload. I do like the suspension, it's does a very nice job. The exhaust is actually on the loud side, ok I guess I am old. Skid plate is paper thin. I changed oil at 300 km. When removing the skid plate, the lower frame rails(they really are like lower skid plate support tubes, not very substantial) spread by a few cm. I had to use a tie down strap to bring them in prior to reinstalling the skid plate. I got unlucky, my cluth lever came without the pivot bushing pressed in........got replacement under warranty. Love all the adjustments, gear shift lever, both hand levers, suspension........ Mix riding computer shows 3.7/100, refueling math shows 4.0/100. Hope this helps someone.
Unfortunate, but most bikes have teething problems, especially brand new models. Hope you can still enjoy your bike. Thanks for your input😊👍
@RocketMan_Moto I like my bike, just giving my observations and take on the bike.
I appreciate that👍😊
Since the bike was too tall for your friend Steve, do you know how tall he is?
He’s about 5’10 / 178cm
@@RocketMan_Moto bad news for my 179cm :(
Try it. You never know…🤞
Commenting on the twitchyness. Triumph wants you to manipulate the preload front and rear to change the rake when going offroad. Sadly their marketing about this is really bad so most journalists/influencers don't know. There is an irish guy who talks about this extensively(@terenceokeeffesmotorcyclestuff).
Nicely commented. When I had the F750GS, which I considered very comfortable and "stately" for riding, one thing that I didn't find pleasant was the sound of the engine when standing next to the idling bike - it was loud, too much for my sensitive hearing. How is your Tiger in this regard? I know what your next bike will be (in not even six months) - a Vespa 300 GTS 🙂
Haha, I already have a Honda ADV350, so why not. I had a BMW F900XR a few years ago and that made a terrible racket on start-up. The Tiger is much nicer in that respect😊
Good to hear. Thx
the 2023 you can fit a full face under, just bought one.
Good to know!
@@RocketMan_Moto Yeah. I'm excited, my first bike 😀
I'm still waiting for them to be available in the USA 😞 I'm def going to get one.
Definitely worth the wait
awesome ! so it's a keeper until mid 2025 then ? 😀
I like your optimism. New 2025 bikes will be announced Oct/Nov this year, lol :)
@@RocketMan_Moto ahhh haaa ! 😀
it will come to the uk for manufacture the price of labour there will make the price go up and subsequently fail. keep it in India and reasonable price.
I agree. If it was made in the UK, it would cost as much as a Norton. Thanks for your input :)
Great video
Thanks!
Been riding a "cheap" Sedici Viaggio Parlare for 4 years now. Tens of thousands of miles, in all conditions/climates, on and off road. Zero complaints. Tried a Shoei RF1400. nice, but certainly not twice as good (price) as the Sedici. Doesn't even have a drop-down visor or ratchet closure. Returned it. Going to try a GT Air 2 or Neotec 2 since they are both marked down right now due to the third version of each being released. May end up with another Sedici. Who knows. People don't like to admit that the extra money often doesn't actually buy more especially once they already spent that money. Sometimes more money even buys *less.*
Thanks for your input :)
Correction ... 450 MT is not "light" weight ... hugely important when off-road.
A KTM 390 is only 5kg less.
SW-Motech has already built an Adventure Rack for the rear plate, to fit a topcase like the black boxes seen early in your video. Looks fantastic! And ty so much for your suggestions.
Thanks for your input :)
Like your previous video on why you gave your ST 1200 for T900RP, I'm still with you.. The doubt at 17:05 on whether the engrs tweaked the engine, only way to find out is whether you feel that much vibration on your foot pegs and the inner side of the leg hugging the tank.. if yes then the tweak is a ???.. if the vibrations are minimum then they did their magic.. Happy miles From 🇮🇳 India
Thanks for your input :)
I’m sad.
Why?
@@RocketMan_Moto I was getting attached to your Speedy.
I feel the same way. I have a 1300gs ordered and wouldn’t mind a speed 400 for around town fun. But it won’t get enough use to make the purchase logical. It’s funny how the extras on the BMW are more than the price of the Triumph.
I have a maxi scooter for urban duties and a Tiger 900 for day trips. A 400 would just sit in the garage, unfortunately. Thanks for your input 👍😊
Those big rollers are amongst other responsible for that very good throttle response; it is a bit shame that sounds suffers for it though. Hopefully the newer version will be able to account for it. I really like the bike though - thank you for a good review!
Thanks for your input👍😊
I don't want keyless, ever !
Fair enough😊
@@RocketMan_Moto I had keyless once, on a Speed Triple 1050 RS . I was always worried about riding off without the key and then having issues !
Never bothered me on my scooter
@@RocketMan_Moto I did also have a second hand car from a friend. They'd lost one of the keyless fobs before I got the car and to get a official replacement fob from Mazda was something like £500 ( a couple of years ago) Even the third party ones weren't that cheap . Something like £250 to £300. The car was quite old, and it was getting on for a fair amount of value of the car ! A key, with one of the RFID chips, well they can be had for about £50 on cars (not sure about bikes , I've never yet had to get one ). Yes , don't lose the key is the solution. Also keyless is a lot more insecure. So many Range Rovers get knicked because of keyless. In the end I guess they're putting on the "disklok" dustbin lid security wheel covers. This then does kind of negate the convenience of keyless. Swap having a key go into an ignition switch, for having a huge dustbin lid security device. A key would be easier ! Sorry , its a moan , I really don't want keyless on cars or bikes. I've never had an issue putting a key in an ignition, and with the RFID-chip-in-the-key operated immobilisers cars have had since the mid 90s , the key is pretty secure.
Many years ago I learnt "I'm not rich enough to buy cheap things". It works.
👍😊
@@RocketMan_Moto I appreciate your very well made educational video...I have been contemplating buying Neotec 2 for a year or two now (looks like they discontinued it), but never bought. Your video reinforced my high opinion of Shoei although I am still having my eyes on Schuberth C5 as well. Pricey (especially when you need to by two of them at once) but definitely justified when you consider safety, comfort and quality. Thanks for your input again. Regards from Croatia.
Thanks for your kind words of encouragement. Shoeis are eye-wateringly expensive but they’re very high quality👍
Hi, are the trunk/bag holders the same as the model 23?Do you use sw-motech? I can't find anything except the original and I don't want that one.thanks for the answer.
Yes, they are the Sw Motech Pro carriers for the 2020-23 Tiger. Fit perfectly👍😊
The radiator design...why oh why? Superb review from a rider owner perspective. Thank you.
Thanks. Could have been worse: they could have pointed the radiator fans at the rider’s face…😂
"Low cost of ownership" I'm not sure how that applies more for the Honda instead of the CF Moto, tbh. Maybe if we only consider that because it is a Honda it won't require much servicing/fixing, but even that doesn't track for me because the CF Moto has a two-stroke and the NX500 has a four-stroke.
Honda will depreciate less. CF Moto is a 4-stroke.
@@RocketMan_Moto that's on me. I somehow confused 2-cylinder with 2-stroke. Now, the sound makes sense. As for the value, I don't get a 6K motorcycle as an asset, though. I love Hondas, but in my country they have the most expensive service out of all the regular brands. The guy who has the exclusive Honda dealership for the whole country is a dink.
That’s unfortunate. Having a good dealer is so important
The display on the first generation Tiger has I think, been designed by a 3 year old child. Great review by the way
Thanks. Dash has been designed by several 3-year-olds who I can only assume never met each other😟
Thanks for a great video! I'll be visiting Portugal this September, riding from Belgium on a Husqvarna LR 701 enduro, doing a bit of easy gravel tracks along the way. Any suggestions on which parts of Portugal I should really visit or avoid? Thank you 😊 ❤
Serra da Estrela in the north, Arabida national park east of Lisbon, anywhere in the Algarve hills😊
@@RocketMan_Moto Thank you so much!
There must be a glitch in The Matrix, RocketMan has picked a cheap Chinese bike over the other 3. It was going to happen sooner or later. They're getting much better and the 'big 4' had better watch out, because they're coming after you.
I was as surprised as you, but there’s no getting away from the fact that it’s a decent looking bike. A friend of mine is buying one, so we’ll see how it stands the test of time. Thanks for your input😊👍
Just considering this in a 2021 euro 4 version know you’ve sold yours will ride it over summer before deciding what’s needed before changing anything but seems like rear shocks would be top of list
Mine was a 2021. Very nice bike, but yes, better shocks is top priority. Fyi, there’s a big update coming for 2025😉
@@RocketMan_Moto ahh thanks for giving me the heads up on that so should I wait is the question?
See Motobob’s video from yesterday👍
